Professional Background

Matthew Citrolo is the Managing Director of Stable Rock's Tax Services & Strategy team. Matthew brings more than 15 years of experience in public accounting with a broad background in tax consulting, advisory, structuring, and compliance. He has specialized in the real estate, entertainment, small business and professional services industries with a deep level of expertise in partnership, corporate, and individual taxation. Matthew prides himself on tax planning at both the entity and individual level to maximize tax efficiency and take advantage of all opportunities available for both the short and long term.

Matthew has extensive experience with federal and state tax research, structuring and guiding clients through IRC Sec. 1031 exchange transactions, gifting and estate planning, fiduciary/trust taxes, stock compensation and multistate tax compliance for all types of entities and individual taxpayers.

Prior to joining Stable Rock, Matthew was a partner at Marcum LLP (formerly known as Friedman LLP and currently known as CBIZ), advising clients across real estate, construction, professional services, manufacturing & distribution. He is recognized for his technical expertise, passion for training and fostering a flexible yet accountable working environment.

Matthew holds a Master of Science in Taxation from The Bernard M. Baruch College, City University of New York, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Farmingdale State College, State University of New York. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New York State.

Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, attending rock concerts and is an avid golfer.
